We have been talking to some people and getting sources from here and there and we have now created this guide to getting the perfect bra size. If your new to bra's or unsure whether yours is the right size, please read through this. This may help you and you may need to go to the local shop and buy a new size.

PostSubject: Why bra size matters   Mon Apr 02, 2007 11:07 am

Bras are there to stop your lady bits wobbling around. You can also get bras that accentuated or minimise your boobs and bras that provide extra support when you need it eg when you're playing sport.

PostSubject: Bra Bad-ness   Mon Apr 02, 2007 11:07 am

It's estimated that around 80% of women in the UK wear incorrectly fitting bras.

Bravissimo say the most common mistake is wearing a cup size that is too small or a back size that's too big, or a combination of the two. Nearly half of all B cup wearers should actually be wearing a D cup or above.

A badly fitting bra won't make the best of your boobs, and could even cause health problems such as sagging or strain on your back. A perfectly fitted bra will make you appear slimmer and will make your breast look firm and pert. Hooray!

Look at your bra now. The perfect bra should fit like this:

• The strap around your body should be firm but comfortable. When you stand side-on at a mirror, the strap that runs around your body should be horizontal and should not ride up at the back at all.

• The wires at the front should lie flat against your rib cage and should not dig in, rub or poke out at the front.

• Your boobs should be enclosed in the cups and you should have a smooth line where the fabric at the top of the cup ends and meets your bust. You shouldn't have any ridges or bulging over the top or sides of the cups, even if you are wearing a balconette or lower cut style.

PostSubject: How to work out your bra size   Mon Apr 02, 2007 11:12 am

DIY: Measure around your rib cage directly under the breast bone. Then add five to the number of inches (after 33 add only three inches) to get the Back Size.

Then measure around the fullest part of the bust and subtract the back size. The difference between the two measurements is your Cup Size. Check the measurements against the list below to find your cup size.

0 inches = AA
1 inches = A
2 inches = B
3 inches = C
4 inches = D
5 inches = DD
6 inches = DDD

Get measured: The best way to ensure a good fit, is to go and get yourself measured. However, we realise that whipping your bra off in front of a total; stranger can sound a bit scary. However most women said that they felt comfotable going as the person who helped them was fantastic.

Your body is developing and changing quickly, and breasts grow at completely different rates. Just because your best mate is already a size FF doesn't mean you need to worry about still being in a training bra.

And if you're more developed than your friends, don't feel shy. Your body is amazing and they are probably jealous of your curves.
